What is breast augmentation?
Breast Augmentation is a cosmetic surgery that aims to enlarge the breast size, reconstruct its shape or make it more balanced. This procedure is standard among women worldwide; it makes them feel self-confident and an attractive feminine look.
Achieving a noticeable change in your appearance is a very important decision. So, take the time to choose the right place to perform this operation and get the result you are all after.
Why did you choose the surgery?
If you think they are too small, increase the breast size.
If one breast is smaller than the other, make the breasts more balanced.
If the breast gets smaller after pregnancy or weight loss, change the shape of the breast.
Restore breast shape after surgery such as tumor resection.
What are the TECHNIQUES of Breast Surgery?
Surgeons choose which technique to use for this procedure according to the patient’s condition and the desired result. There are four main techniques as follows:
Under Breast
In this procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision in the inframammary fold under the breast. This technique is characterized by the fact that the incision made allows the surgeon to reach a deeper point and place the implant accurately.
In addition, the incision will not be visible as it will be hidden under the breast.
Peri-Areos
In this procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision near the outer edge surrounding the nipple. The peculiarity of this technique is that the incision will be hidden by the natural color of the nipple.
Underarm
In this procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision in the armpit and then inserts the implant using special equipment and a camera to ensure the correct position. A small scar will appear under the armpit. But the nozzles will be traceless.
Belly Button
In this procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision above the navel to insert the implant. This technique will leave a small scar in the navel area, while the breast will remain clean.
What are the types of breast implants?
There are basically two types of implants:
Saline Filled Implants
Saline-filled implants are filled with sterilized saline and held in an elastic silicone shell. A saline solution may leak. Don’t worry, the body will absorb the solution and expel it. This type is suitable for women 18 years and older.
Silicone Filled Implants
Silicone-filled implants are filled with silicone gel held within a silicone outer shell. If a silicone implant leaks, the gel may remain on the surface or escape into the implant pocket. If you choose this type of implant, you should visit your surgeon regularly to check the condition of the implant.
An ultrasound or MRI can check the condition of the implants.
This type is suitable for women 22 years and older.
There are many types of silicone implants. The most popular are known as Gummy Bear Implants or Form-stable implants.
Tear Implants are also filled with silicone gel and enclosed in a silicone outer shell. More stable than traditional silicone implants due to its “Teardrop” shape.
Gummy Bear Implants give the breast a more natural appearance than other implants, but in this type the incision will be more pronounced. This type is not suitable for women under 22 years of age.
Fat Transfer to the Breast is an alternative method to breast implants. It is a cosmetic procedure used to remove excess fat from a certain area of the body and inject it into the breast.
Fat Transfer to Breasts is becoming popular as most women increase the natural shape and size of their breasts. Fat Transfer is one of the best options as it only uses the fat cells in the woman’s body.
The best part about the fat transfer method is that it can be used with or without other breast implants, depending on the individual, and it improves the look and feel. It gives you natural and beautiful results and helps boost your self-confidence significantly.
How is Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Performed?
The initial step in fat transfer to the breast is the collection of fat cells from the donor area, usually the abdomen, via liposuction. Next, the fat is melted to produce a smoother profile. The fat cells are then skillfully placed under the skin through small tunnels.
Since you will be under general anesthesia during the procedure, you will not feel any pain. The surgeon will make a small incision in one of the following areas, depending on the type of implant you want
Under the chest
Near the outer edge surrounding the nipple.
Under the armpits.
Above the navel
The surgeon will place the implant in a pocket above or below your pectoral muscle. After the implant is placed in the right place, the surgeon will close the incisions with sutures and cover your breasts with gauze.
This process usually takes one to two hours.
